What is concrete?
When someone says concrete, most of the people imagine a grey cement-like mixture used in a construction process. While the imagination is vivid and right, what they don’t realise is how the mixture is made. Concrete is a robust element, mostly used in the construction of the commercial building, roads, pavements, and mainly everything. It is a mixture of gravel, sand, portland cement, and water which solidifies and hardens due to the process of hydration. All the components used to make the concrete constitutes in producing a stone-like material.
Although humans didn’t come up with the concept of this binding mixture a few years ago, the process has been tinkered for more than a decade now. The cement works as the binding agent when mixed with the aggregates and water. The combination is then poured into a container and shaped in whatever shape you like.
Early age
In the ancient days, people came with the idea of the concrete mixture to construct homes by mixing the components. After the formation of volcanic sand in Rome, a Roman philosopher noted that ‘the dust and sand turn solid when touched with water.’ Therefore, the Romans started using the mixture in the process of building their homes. By sheer luck, the Romans had built a cement factory with their intelligent minds.
Today, the Portland cement is the glue that holds the aggregates and water together. Since a long time, concrete has been used with traditional methods. Long ago, people used to transport the bucket full of concrete to high-level places through tower cranes. As a result, the bucket had a set volume to carry the mixture and the concrete used to lose its strength while it reached its destination.
Concrete boom placer
While people faced the issue of transporting concrete to a higher level in large quantity, the concrete boom placer came in the picture. A concrete pump is a machine used for transferring liquid concrete and pumping it to a higher level. The use of boomer allows you to speed up the concreting process by saving the time of transporting the mixture. The pump offers a 360-degree rotation and helps displace the concrete all around the construction site.
